Alexis Te, MD
Alexis Te, MD, is Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he is Co-Director of the Men's Health Program and Director of the Advanced Center for Benign Prostatic Diseases.
He completed his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University and received his MD from Weill Medical College at Cornell University. His postgraduate training includes a urology residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and a fellowship in neurourology and urodynamics at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University.
Dr. Te has published more than 170 peer-reviewed articles focusing on benign prostatic disorders and incontinence treatment. His research covers benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), BPH therapies, incontinence, prostatitis, neurourology, urodynamics, female urology, interstitial cystitis, laser surgery, and prostate cancer.
He is a member of several professional organizations and holds editorial positions in numerous journals. He has been recognized in Super Docs, Castle Connolly: Best Doctor in NY Metro Area–Urology, the Best Doctors in America database, and on the New York magazine Best Doctors list. Dr. Te was Director of the Brady Urologic Health Center at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2000 through 2023, and a Consultant at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital beginning in 2002. He was Director of the Urology Program at the Iris Cantor Men’s Health Center of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center from 2012 until 2023 and the Urodynamic Laboratory from 2000 to 2023.
